(Vocus/PRWEB) 8 March 2011 — The first golden era of cruising offered almost unlimited choices for single or solo travelers. In fact, cruise ships represented the preferred method of business and recreational travel for many people. In more recent times, cruise lines have frowned upon single or solo travel due to the supposed revenue loss it causes. Many cruise industry experts have argued that this is not the case and it appears that some of the cruise lines are starting to note the economic advantages of appealing to a single or solo traveler market. Recent travel figures have revealed that 35 million adults go on solo vacations every year and only 5% of those go on a cruise, there are is a huge number of potential customers available to go on cruises.
At CruiseLineFans, we can tell solo travellers which cruise lines are suitable for them, how much it will cost, and even offer a few suggestions to make their next solo cruise vacation adventure as enjoyable as possible.

Norwegian Cruise Lines
Two of the first companies to enter the world of true solo cruising are Norwegian Cruise Lines and P&O. Both cruise lines have dedicated cabins on their flagship vessels reserved specifically and priced accordingly for solo or single cruisers.
The NCL EPIC is the newest ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet and offers a range of cutting edge amenities, 128 cabins designated solely for use by solo cruisers. Solo cruisers aboard the NCL EPIC can expect to access the Studios Lounge, with its bar & lounge, oversized TV screens and a concierge to book dinner and shore excursion reservations. The Studios are located within their own two-deck, private complex and each one contains a full size bed and separate areas for the bathroom, sink and shower.
P&O have 18 studio cabins onboard the Azura. Deck 6 is home to all 18 studio cabins which are all 130 square feet, with both inside and outside cabin options. Each studio houses a single bed, flat-screen television, writing desk with a vanity and drawers built in, and a bathroom with separate shower. Since there are only 18 of these cabins, guests must book early to avoid disappointment.
